Unique specialism
Governance is about the way in which organizations organize and implement management and supervision. In addition to the corporate governance code, we also have numerous industry-specific governance codes in the Netherlands. In the public sector, these are often drawn up by trade associations. These codes of conduct set frameworks for management, policy making, decisions, implementation and supervision and also concern behavior, responsibility and integrity. A governance code is an instrument that helps organizations with good governance and the realization of (social) objectives.
Because services in the public sector are provided with public money or premium resources, supervisory boards have more social accountability than in the private sector. Due to our commitment to people and society, we have made a conscious choice for the public sector and a unique specialty has emerged.
Share knowledge about governance
We know what is going on in the various sectors and closely follow developments in the governance codes. We know the content and its importance. Thanks to our years of experience, we oversee the entire playing field, because good and efficient control is only possible with extensive knowledge of the sector. We share this knowledge through consultations, management letters and audit reports. We also draw attention to new developments, for example through our newsletters and we provide training for housing associations, municipalities and healthcare institutions.
Every year we take a theme from the governance code and give it extra attention to our clients. Consider how riskmanagement should be organized within the organization and how it should be reported. This gives us a good idea of the best practices per sector. We then incorporate these insights into our advice.
“Our people have a good antenna for social dynamics.”
